Author - Anita Moorjani
Genre - spiritual
Pages - 216In this truly inspirational memoir, Anita Moorjani relates how, after fighting cancer for almost four years, her body began shutting down—overwhelmed by the malignant cells spreading throughout her system. As her organs failed, she entered into an extraordinary near-death experience where she realized her inherent worth . . . and the actual cause of her disease. Upon regaining consciousness, Anita found that her condition had improved so rapidly that she was released from the hospital within weeks—without a trace of cancer in her body! Within these pages, Anita recounts stories of her childhood in Hong Kong, her challenge to establish her career and find true love, as well as how she eventually ended up in that hospital bed where she defied all medical knowledge. As part of a traditional Hindu family residing in a largely Chinese and British society, Anita had been pushed and pulled by cultural and religious customs since she was a little girl. After years of struggling to forge her own path while trying to meet everyone else’s expectations, she had the realization, as a result of her epiphany on the other side, that she had the power to heal herself . . . and that there are miracles in the Universe that she’d never even imagined. In Dying to Be Me, Anita freely shares all she has learned about illness, healing, fear, “being love,” and the true magnificence of each and every human being! This is a book that definitely makes the case that we are spiritual beings having a human experience . . . and that we are all One!

I stumbled upon Anita Moorjani's story on YouTube. After reading The Laws of the Spirit World, I got very interested in the topic of Afterlife and I am a strong believer of the concept. After watching several videos and reading several blogs, Anita's story was one that stayed with me.
Before I go ahead and express my views about this book, I'd like to talk about the author - Anita Moorjani. To put it simply, I absolutely love her! She has this very bubbly and happy spirit about her that instantly attracts you. She puts on no facade, you know right away every word that comes out of her mouth is the truth and the truth alone. There is something about her, in all her videos she looks so stress free and happy. And each time she tells her story, I have goosebumps racing across my skin! She is a marvelous living example of who we all really are - powerful and magnificent beings.
I pretty much knew everything about this book before I even read it. Her story is freely available on YouTube and her website. That shows that she really wants to just spread a message by speaking of her story. She has no motive to monetize on her book, since the content in her book is freely available for everyone. But because I love her so much, I just had to read the book!
This book is about Anita's Moorjani's life story. Born to Indian(Sindhi) parents, she lived in Hong Kong midst the Chinese culture and went to a British School for education. Being in the middle of 3 distinctly different cultures, there were clashes in what her parents expected her to do and what the rest of the world around her was doing. Unfortunately, she gets detected with cancer and 4 years down the line she ends up on her deathbed. On Feb 2, 2006 she enters a coma following which her organs begin to shut down. Her doctors tell her family that she has less than 36 hours to live. Little did they know that she was the creator of her own future irrespective of her ravaged physical state.
During her coma, Anita has an NDE (near death experience). She speaks about the clarity she has when in the spiritual form, and the choices she had the free will to make.
If you've read The Laws of the Spirit World by Khorshed Bhavnagri, you'll find that certain concepts in the two books are discordant and I'm okay with that. Guess we'll find out the truth once we are dead and gone :) I'm not trying to scare you, it's a fact.
This book is beautifully written, explained with simplicity, and will give you a sense of joy. Her story is beautiful and entrancing, I highly recommend reading this one!
